The London Stock Exchange has published a list of "1,000 companies to inspire Britain 2016"...and McLays are one of just 25 Welsh companies to be featured.

2016 sees the 3rd edition and McLays join 24 other Welsh businesses in the list - an increase of 38% on 2015.

In his commentary of the report, Chancellor of the Exchequer The Rt Hon George Osbourne MP states, "The entrepreneurs in this report illustrate our nation's capacity to produce word-class innovation".

The criteria to make the list were:

  • Company status - active and registered in the UK
  • Size and age - £6m-£250m turnover and over 3 years old
  • Financial performance - calculated over a 3 year period across 4 sets of accounts
  • Sector benchmarking - Growth rate against Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) sector

"Our next challenge is to be in the 2017 list!”
