Cardiff University, a long-standing customer of McLays, was the proud Title Sponsor of the inaugural Commonwealth Half Marathon Championships which brought a stellar line up of the world’s best endurance athletes to Cardiff.
International runners from 18 nations battled it out on the streets of the Welsh capital at the first Commonwealth event over 13.1 miles. The Cardiff University Cardiff Half Marathon course record of 60:43 minutes still stands as Dave Roylance (Cardiff University), Wayne Miles and Paul James (both McLays) came nowhere near it.
